  • Visiting and Friendly Chats – Sit and talk with residents, listen to stories, offer companionship
  • Activity Assistance – Help facilitate games, arts and crafts, trivia or other group activities
  • Reading Aloud – Read books, newspapers or letters to residents who have vision challenges
  • Music and Entertainment – Play an instrument, sing or help host sing-alongs and performances
  • Pet Therapy – Bring certified therapy animals for visits
  • Technology Tutoring – Teach residents how to use smartphones, tablets, video chat, email, etc.
  • Gardening – assist with gardening projects outdoors or in raised beds
  • Storytelling and Memoir Sessions – Help residents write or record their life stories
  • Holiday and Seasonal Events – Help plan and run parties, decorating, and special celebrations

Support & Practical Help

Homemaking Volunteer in St. Cloud/Cold Spring: Provide one to two hours every other week of light homemaking for an older adult in the community. This may include help with grocery shopping or picking up groceries for those who are homebound.

Lawn Care Volunteer in St. Cloud area/Cold Spring: Do you enjoy being outside in the warmer weather? We need your help providing much-needed outdoor chores, including lawn care. Sign up to help a neighbor, or two, with lawn care this summer. Opportunities available for spring clean-up, mowing, gardening and other outdoor chores.

Transportation Volunteer in St. Cloud & throughout Stearns County: Drive those without transportation to medical appointments, the grocery store and other locations. Commitments can be as little as one ride a week to several. Mileage reimbursement provided.

Friendly visiting in St. Cloud/Cold Spring/Avon: Provide companionship to older adults throughout Stearns County with an hour or two once a week or once every other week. Activities can include playing cards, enjoying walks together or chatting over a cup of coffee.
