Resident and Associate Stories
Honoring the Lives of our Residents Through their Stories
A life well lived consists of many unique and wonderful phases. At Benedictine, we are honored to support our residents and their families as they journey into a new chapter of life. As we age, our purpose evolves. We transition from starting and growing families to retirement and facing the unique challenges of growing older. Our lives are rich with countless moments of love, joy, celebration and meaning.
We celebrate our residents’ past, present and future, knowing that every phase of life has meaning and purpose.
Butterfly Project Takes Flight at Benedictine Living Community-Garrison
Residents at Benedictine Garrison enjoyed a Monarch butterfly metamorphosis display. They got to closely observe them and release the butterflies after they hatched. This article describes a heartwarming intergenerational project at Benedictine Garrison, where young Madden Fuentes and his family set up a Monarch butterfly display for residents to observe the metamorphosis process. The project was inspired by resident Georgean Gullickson’s lifelong love of butterflies and brought joy to the community, while also raising awareness about the importance of Monarch conservation.
There isn’t a person here that I don’t like. I think it’s a great place and they all treat me very well. I feel like I am around family here, they treat me like family. You can’t ask for anything better than that.
Delores Ada Resident
We went to a couple places and looked and we took my son and his wife with us to a couple of them and they all agreed this was the best one. I thought it looked like a beautiful hotel.
Joann & Tom Nazareth Resident
They very best in retirement living! Wonderful atmosphere-numerous activities for all. Meals suited for all regardless of background and taste. Most significant is a staff that is professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and dedicated to the residents they serve.
Bob Milano Villa St. Benedict Resident
One of ours sons checked this place among other places and found it to be the one like the best and suggested it to us. It’s comfortable, the people are wonderful and the people here they’re very helpful, always answering our questions. What more does one want?

Celebrating the Contributions of Our Associates
St. Benedict said, “Listen and attend with the ear of your heart.” This is a sentiment that drives the work our skilled and compassionate associates do. Whether providing healthcare as a nurse or CNA, or ensuring our facilities are clean and our food is healthy and fresh, working at Benedictine is more than a vocation—it is a ministry. We are proud of our associates who help continue the healing work of Jesus throughout our communities with compassionate care to the seniors who call Benedictine home.
Celebrating 50 Years of Service at Benedictine Living Community-Dickinson
Sharon Privratsky is celebrating 50 years of service at Benedictine Living Community-Dickinson, where she began as a teenage volunteer and progressed through various roles to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and Team Leader. Her career has been marked by a deep commitment to caring for the elderly, inspired by her mother’s work in elder care and driven by her love for the residents and their stories. Privratsky’s dedication has influenced her family, with multiple generations now working at the facility, and she plans to continue her service as a volunteer after retirement.
Benedictine has a lot of caring staff, and the residents are wonderful here. I have really appreciated the services they’ve provided for my own father, and I definitely think that it’s quality.
I work with the families and the residents, making them feel like they are cared for and that they have a family here. At Benedictine Anoka, we are a big family, and they’re part of it.
There’s just a sense of warmth and comfort in the community. One of my favorite things is again seeing the smiles on our residents faces. I think we have such a beautiful team and a good sense of teamwork within our community.
