The Power of Nonprofit Senior Care: Supporting Mission‑Driven Communities

Care Inspires Gratitude and Gratitude Fuels Impact

Every day, our associates create moments of care that stay with the people we serve. A reassuring voice. A steady presence. A therapist who celebrates a milestone. These moments spark gratitude, and when someone chooses to act on that gratitude, the result is impact felt across our entire organization.

That’s what philanthropy looks like here. It begins with care. It grows through connection. And it becomes something that improves lives.

A Real Story of Gratitude → Impact

This recently came to life in a powerful way at Benedictine Living Community-Dickinson when caregivers Gina M., Becky K. and Chris J. reached out about a resident who shared how much he loved the Omnicyle and indicated that he may be interested in purchasing an additional machine for the therapy department.

After one conversation and a handful of simple connections, the foundation received a generous donation from Dr. Gerard Jacobs, paired with a gift‑in‑kind discount from ACP, to fully fund a brand‑new Omnicycle Connect, complete with the Omnitour (and S&H).

When the therapy team heard the news, excitement filled the hallway. One PT said, “If I wasn’t with a patient right now, I’d be doing heel kicks down the hallway!” Their joy wasn’t about a piece of equipment, it was about what this will mean for residents: better mobility, renewed confidence and more opportunities for progress.

This entire gift started with something simple: a staff member listening, noticing gratitude and connecting Gerard to the foundation.

“When I recently met with Gerard, he told me he was already loving the Omnicycle, and he was moved to tears when I expressed our gratitude. He shared that through his wife’s work, he learned the importance of “sharing and being open.” His generosity is now creating real, daily impact for residents and empowering our associates with the tools they need.” – Cassie Visser, Foundation Development Director

This is philanthropy.
This is teamwork.
This is mission in motion.
