Daycare and Preschool Services
Helping children get off to their best start.
The care and education children receive in the first five years of life is crucial to their social, emotional and academic development. Learning and growing in an atmosphere of love, respect, diversity, and acceptance puts them well on their way to being happy and well-adjusted. That’s why some Benedictine communities offer developmental preschool for children ages 33 months through 5 years.
Our preschool is not simply a daycare or a child care service. Benedictine preschool is a year-round program in which children are exposed to a creative curriculum designed to prepare them for kindergarten by enhancing creativity as well as social and problem-solving skills.
Teachers trained in early childhood education lead age-appropriate activities in language arts, math readiness, science, dramatic play, cooking, art, music and creative movement. The curriculum is further enhanced by field trips.
A unique component of our program is the opportunity for the children to interact with the seniors who reside in our Benedictine Living Communities. Intergenerational activities like sing-a-longs, plays and cookie-baking are positive, enriching experiences for both children and seniors. Our preschools also sustain a climate of diversity in which children from all walks of life with a variety of needs are encouraged to grow in love and to respect the uniqueness of other children and the adults in their lives.
