Walk Beside Someone Who Matters at the Madonna Towers Alzheimer’s Walk
A quarter-mile may not sound far. On Sept. 10, however, each step around the Madonna Towers campus will carry a purpose: supporting our memory care residents and honoring people whose lives have been affected by Alzheimer’s disease.
Residents, families, associates and Rochester neighbors are welcome to take part in the Madonna Towers Alzheimer’s Walk at Benedictine Living Community-Rochester. The opening ceremony begins at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, followed by the community walk at 10:30 a.m. The accessible quarter-mile route begins and ends at Madonna Towers, 4001 19th Ave. NW in Rochester.
More Than a Walk Around the Campus
For families affected by memory loss, showing up matters. This morning offers several ways to do just that:
- Walk for someone you love. Honor a family member, friend or neighbor affected by Alzheimer’s disease.
- Walk beside a Madonna Towers resident. Ask Susan about adopting a resident to walk with during the event.
- Bring someone with you. A friend or family member can turn one person’s support into two.
The route is short enough to be approachable. The reason for walking is much bigger. Choose who you’ll walk for, then ask someone you care about to walk beside you.
