Investing in the future of care at Benedictine Living Community-Rochester Madonna Towers

Benedictine is grateful to share that Benedictine Living Community-Rochester Madonna Towers recently received $150,000 in grant funding from the Carl and Verna Schmidt Foundation, through two generous $75,000 gifts.
This support helps move forward essential improvements that make a real difference in daily life for residents, staff and families.
Caring for a Community That’s Been Home Since 1967
For nearly 60 years, Benedictine Madonna Towers has been a place people trust, where residents feel safe, supported and at home. Behind the scenes, though, many of the systems that keep everything running smoothly are original to the building.
As those systems age, it becomes more important to thoughtfully update them so the community can continue to provide the same level of comfort and care people depend on.
What This Funding Supports
This grant helps advance a multi‑year renovation plan focused on essential infrastructure updates, including:
- Replacing aging heating and cooling systems
- Updating the domestic water supply
- Restoring original windows to improve comfort and efficiency
- Completing important exterior repairs
These aren’t always visible changes, but they are the ones that ensure everything works the way it should, every day.
More Than Maintenance
This work is about more than fixing what’s worn. It’s about taking care of a community that serves more than 400 people each year and making sure it continues to feel like home; safe, comfortable and dependable.
