Benedictine Ellendale Celebrates Enhancements

Residents, family members, visitors and associates are enjoying a variety of enhancements to community and living spaces at Benedictine Living Community-Ellendale. Several projects were initiated in 2024 including updating the kitchen and dining areas at the nationally recognized, top-rated community that provides long-term skilled nursing care, short-term care and rehabilitation, therapy, memory care, and behavioral health services.
Featured in the refresh are decorative new flooring, paint, tables, chairs, place settings, artwork and décor, and new sitting areas which give the areas an attractive, more modern look. Residents and family can enjoy dining and visiting in a stylish space that has a bright, open, café-type feel.
Benedictine Ellendale also opened a new therapy space, the first dedicated therapy site of its kind in the building. The spacious area is home to occupational; physical and speech therapy services and features a variety of brand-new equipment including a MAT table, NuStep recumbent exercise machine, parallel bars, training stairs, hand weights and fine motor equipment. The therapy gym offers many advantages including a larger space for working with residents, convenient access, and new, state-of-the art equipment for therapy department staff to utilize during treatment.
The improvements were made possible through donations to the nonprofit Benedictine Living Community-Ellendale Foundation and funding from Benedictine Ellendale.
“We are excited to have our enhancements done so we can share them with the family members and friends who come to visit our residents,” stated Naomi Grueneich, executive director of Benedictine Living Community-Ellendale, which has the highest facility rating (5 Stars) from the national Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), ranks among the top 6 out of 75 skilled nursing communities in the state, and earned a 2024 Quality Award from the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL).
“We are continually looking for ways to enrich our care offerings as well as our living spaces to provide an enjoyable, homelike environment for our residents, and we would like to thank all of our generous donors and supporters for making this possible,” Grueneich added.
Those interested in touring the new therapy space can call therapist Courtney Christianson at (701) 349-6704 to arrange a time.
