2026 Sister Claudia Riehl Living a Legacy Honorees Named

Every organization is shaped by individuals whose influence extends far beyond their role. For Benedictine, Sister Claudia Riehl, OSB, remains one of those extraordinary individuals. Through her years of service as Director of Mission Integration, Sister Claudia helped weave the Benedictine Mission and Core Values into the daily life of the organization, creating a culture rooted in compassion, hospitality, stewardship and respect.
Sister Claudia had a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Whether offering encouragement to a colleague, supporting a resident and family, or helping associates understand the deeper purpose behind their work, she consistently reminded others that caring for people is both a privilege and a calling. Reflecting on her ministry, Sister Claudia once shared, “My goal was to keep alive the healing ministry of Jesus.”
For more than 20 years, Sister Claudia embodied the Benedictine Mission through her leadership, humility and unwavering faith. In recognition of her lasting impact, the Benedictine Foundation established the Sister Claudia Riehl Living a Legacy Program in 2010. The program was created to honor associates who, like Sister Claudia, bring Benedictine’s Mission, Vision and Core Values to life through their actions, relationships and commitment to serving others.
Congratulations to the 2026 Sister Claudia Riehl Living a Legacy honorees. Their dedication, compassion and commitment to excellence exemplify the values that Sister Claudia championed throughout her life and ministry. By living the Mission every day, they continue a legacy that inspires others and strengthens Benedictine communities for generations to come.
