Benedictine celebrates 40th Anniversary with Threads of Grace

2025 is a milestone year for Benedictine. In 1985, The Sisters of St. Scholastica Monastery, Duluth, formed the Benedictine Health System (now Benedictine) to continue their health care ministry into the future.
In the year 2000, for the 15th Anniversary of Benedictine, the hospitals and senior living communities of Benedictine created the anniversary quilt which is on display in the Rockhurst meeting room at St. Scholastica Monastery. This year, for Benedictine’s 40th Anniversary, a new quilt was created.
At Benedictine’s Annual Conference in Duluth, Minn., the 40th Anniversary Quilt, Threads of Grace, was unveiled. Each Benedictine community contributed a unique square representing their location, beautifully stitched together by master quilter Carol Ehlinger, executive director of Benedictine Living Community–Winona, Minn.
The result? A stunning tapestry of Benedictine’s history, values and grace. The 40th Anniversary Quilt will be touring the individual Benedictine Communities and then will be given to the Benedictine Sisters of St. Scholastica Monastery in gratitude for their support.
