Because the Catholic health ministry of tomorrow depends on strong leadership and passionate commitment to the healing mission, CHA established the Tomorrow’s Leaders Program to encourage promising young leaders to continue their careers in Catholic health ministry. Representing Catholic health systems from around the country, the eleven 2021 Tomorrow’s Leader honorees are dedicated, high-performing individuals who have demonstrated commitment to advancing the mission of Catholic health care.

Pepper joined Benedictine as assistant general counsel in 2012 and was appointed general counsel and senior vice president of legal services in 2019. As general counsel, Pepper oversees Benedictine’s legal affairs and is responsible for areas such as governance, facility acquisitions, risk management, litigation, and regulatory compliance.  In addition, Pepper is involved in the work of Benedictine’s sponsor, the Benedictine Sisters of St. Scholastica Monastery of Duluth, to establish a new sponsorship model.

“I have great confidence in Trent’s leadership and his passionate commitment to the future of Catholic health care,” says Sr. Beverly Raway, OSB, prioress of the Benedictine Sisters of St. Scholastica Monastery.  “Trent is committed to living and carrying forward Christ’s mission of love and healing and considers this not only his work, but a calling in the best sense of vocation in ministry.”
