A continuum is something that keeps on going, changing slowly over time, like the continuum of the four seasons. In addition to meaning “a whole made up of many parts,” continuum, can describe a range that is always present. – vocabulary.com

Benedictine Living Community-Duluth (BLCD) takes pride in the ability to work with residents and families to develop customized living options. Our community provides a sense of comfort, security and independence where seniors can age in a continuum of care.

From adult day services to independent living and assisted living to memory care; skilled nursing and therapy to home health; our range of services can evolve over time creating person-centered care.

This past year we have transitioned many residents within our community. From Westwood Independent & Assisted Living, we had nine residents transition to Marywood and two who moved to Westwood Terrace. We had twelve more from housing move to long-term care. Two of our Marywood residents moved to Westwood Terrace. One assisted living resident graduated to independent living. We have been able keep couples needing different ranges of care under the same roof. “It is so important to me and to my family that I can visit my husband in Safe Harbor memory care,” a Westwood Independent resident shared.

Many of our housing residents regularly attend our Adult Day Services program and our Home Health team not only cares for residents in the greater Duluth area, they also work with residents in our BLCD family.

As needs change, transition from one type of living to the next is hard, yet being able to stay in a familiar community, with familiar friends, family and staff help to keep our residents Living Fully | Living Well.
