What we are
The Benedictine Living Community-Duluth Auxiliary is a special group of people who seek to have fun, be creative and develop friendships while raising funds to extend the services provided by Benedictine Duluth and further enrich the quality of life of all who live on campus.
Sounds like a lot? You can get involved as much as you wish! As a member of the Benedictine Duluth Auxiliary, you can choose to participate in events, serve as a member of our board or on a committee or volunteer your time with residents.
What we do
The Benedictine Duluth Auxiliary operates the Daisy Gift Shop, located in Benedictine Duluth’s lobby, selling a variety of items to residents, staff and visitors. We raise funds to enhance the lives of Benedictine Duluth campus residents through a pre-owned jewelry and purse sale, book cart sales, raffles, golf outing, bake sales and luncheons. Auxiliary members also volunteer at the Benedictine Duluth information desk, visit with residents and help with residents’ activities.
Dollars raised by Auxiliary events and in the Daisy Shop:
- Are donated to the Benedictine Duluth Foundation to fund a project(s) of our choosing. We have supported construction of additional campus services such as Westwood and Westwood Terrace and improvements to Benedictine Duluth, it’s services and Sister Mariella’s Garden.
- Provide annual scholarships to Benedictine Living Community-Duluth employees, who
are pursuing nursing or education degrees. - Fund extra, small projects at Benedictine Duluth, needs that are identified by staff in an annual “wish list.”
