Supporting the Whole Person – Benedictine’s Spiritual Care

Interior of the chapel at Benedictine Living Community-Duluth.

A key component of holistic care in Benedictine is our spiritual care professionals. These staff members extend the gift of Hospitality beyond resident advocacy and education to provide spiritual resources which help residents and staff focus on transcendent meaning, purpose and value. They are trained to respectfully respond to the values, beliefs and religious needs of every individual in our care.

Listening to Your Needs to Provide the Support you Deserve

You can expect an attentive listener who will meet you where you’re at in your own faith and personal journey, someone who will encourage you to discover meaning and purpose, an advocate who will help interpret medical language, serve as a peacemaker, and keep you connected with your religious community. They will stay with you and your loved ones as you face difficult decisions and respect your beliefs and support you in those beliefs.

Spiritual care may or may not include religious care. Our spiritual care professionals provide spiritual and emotional support to our residents, their family members, associates and visitors.

Benedictine Living Community—Duluth provides:

  • Catholic Mass | Chapel Services | Protestant Communion
  • Ecumenical and community services
  • Adaptive Memory Care Services on the units
  • Support Group opportunities
  • Resident Choir, Hymn Sings and Special Music Events
  • One-on-one Spiritual Support Options
