2022 Sister Claudia Riehl Living A Legacy honorees named

During her tenure with Benedictine as director of mission integration, Sister Claudia Riehl, OSB, had a profound impact on the integration of our Mission and Core Values throughout our communities as well as the development of the unique culture within Benedictine. There was something special about Sister Claudia and the way she connected with people from all walks of life. When asked about her work, she said, “My goal was to keep alive the healing ministry of Jesus.”

For more than 20 years, Sister Claudia exemplified the Benedictine Core Values and was an inspiration to all. The Sister Claudia Riehl Living A Legacy Program was established in 2010 by the Benedictine Foundation in collaboration with Sister Claudia to continue her legacy in perpetuity. At that time, Sister Claudia commented about the Program, “It was very humbling and overwhelming and amazing and affirming, but I didn’t get to be successful at this ministry without the help of everyone else. My goal was to make a difference.”

The Sister Claudia Riehl Living A Legacy honor lifts up associates who, like Sr. Claudia, integrate our mission and values in their service. Recipients are chosen annually for this recognition from our Benedictine and Partner communities and our support center.
